Device Compatibility

Note: US Mobile provides two SIM cards, GSM LTE (White SIM Card) and Warp 5G (Black SIM Card. We recommend to choose network according to the coverage in your area. You can check which network works best for you by putting in the zip code here

After you check which network works the best for you, please double check if your Motorola Moto G phone is compatible.

Warp 5G

If your Motorola Moto G has VoLTE and no network restrictions on it, it should be compatible.

GSM LTE

With GSM LTE, most Motorola Moto G phones are compatible.

Here are some useful instructions for your device - Motorola Moto G:

How to turn Data Roaming off

  1. Swipe up on the home screen to see all your apps.
  2. Tap on Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network.
    For Moto G (3rd generation), Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > More > Mobile Networks.
  3. Select the switch on “Roaming / Data Roaming / Data Roaming Access” to toggle it off (if its on).
    If Data roaming is switched off, the switch will be greyed out.
    If your mobile data is turned off, the switch will be greyed out as well, and you won't be able to move the switch.

How to Change the Network Mode

  1. Swipe up on the home screen to see all your apps.
  2. Tap on Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network.
For Moto G (3rd generation), Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > More > Mobile Networks.
For Moto G6, Moto G7, Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Power and Moto G 5G Plus, tap Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced.
  1. Tap Preferred network type.

How to enable VoLTE

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network.
  2. Enable VoLTE toggle / 4G LTE Mode to activate the VoLTE.
For Moto G (3rd generation),Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > More > Mobile Networks. Turn enhanced calling feature / enhanced 4G LTE mode ON here.
For Moto G6 Play, navigate Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Advanced Calling. Turn ON the Advanced Calling Switch here.

How to Check if you have Wi-Fi turned off and cellular data turned on

  1. Turn off Wi-Fi: Pull down the notification tray by sliding your finger down from the top of the screen, then tap the Wi-Fi toggle. Alternatively, you can tap Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off from there.
    For Moto G (3rd generation), Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off from here.
  2. Turn on Mobile Data: Pull down the notification tray by sliding your finger down from the top of the screen, then tap the Mobile Data toggle. Alternatively, you can tap Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Mobile Data and turn Mobile Data on from there.
    For Moto G (3rd generation), Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > Data Usage > Mobile Data and turn Mobile Data ON from here.

How to Update the APN

  1. Swipe up on the home screen to see all your apps.
  2. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Access point names.
    For Moto G (3rd generation), Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access point names.
    For Moto G7, Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Power, Moto G Fast, Moto G Power, Moto G Stylus and Moto G 5G Plus, Moto G9 Plus, Moto G9 Power, Moto G Play (2021), Moto G Stylus (2021), Moto G Stylus 5G, Moto G10 Power (2021), Moto G50 (2021) and Moto G100 (2021), navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced > Access point names.
  3. Tap the menu button (usually 3 stacked dots).

How to Manually search for network

  1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Choose Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network.
    For Moto G (3rd generation), Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Network Operators.
    For Moto G7, Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Power, Moto G Fast, Moto G Power, Moto G Stylus and Moto G 5G Plus, Moto G9 Plus, Moto G9 Power, Moto G Play (2021), Moto G Stylus (2021), Moto G Stylus 5G, Moto G10 Power (2021), Moto G50 (2021) and Moto G100 (2021), navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced > Network.
  3. Choose a SIM (if option available).
  4. Choose Network Operators.
  5. Choose US Mobile from the options to connect.

How to Turn OFF Wi-Fi calling

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
  2. Navigate: Menu icon (upper-right) > Settings.
  3. Tap Calls.
  4. Tap Wi-Fi Calling.
  5. Tap the Wi-Fi Calling toggle to switch Wi-Fi Calling OFF.

How to Turn OFF Call forwarding

Option 1:

  1. From any Home screen, tap Phone.
  2. Tap Menu > Settings.
  3. Tap Calls.
  4. Tap Call forwarding > Always forward > Turn off.

Option 2:

  1. To turn call forwarding off, swipe down from the top of the screen.
  2. Tap the Call Forwarding notification (if shown).
  3. Tap Call Forwarding.
  4. Tap Always Forward.
  5. Tap Turn Off.

Option 3:

  1. Dial ##004# to turn off conditional call forwarding.
  2. Dial *73 to cancel call forwarding.

How to Turn ON Call Waiting

  1. Choose Phone.
  2. Choose the options symbol.
  3. Choose Settings.
  4. Choose Calling accounts.
  5. Choose a SIM.
  6. Choose Additional settings.
  7. Turn on Call waiting.

How to check the number entered for SMS center

Go to Messages > Menu button > Settings > Advance > SMS center.

How to Make sure MMS / Group Messaging both are turned ON

  1. Go to Messages > Tap on 3 dots > Settings > Tap Advanced.
  2. Tap Auto-download MMS to turn on.

How to Setup Hotspot

  1. From the Home screen, swipe Up/Down from the Center of the display to access your Apps.
  2. Navigate: Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot and Tethering.
    For Moto G (3rd generation), Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus and Moto G5 Plus, navigate to Settings > More >Tethering and mobile hotspot.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi HotspotSet up Wi-Fi Hotspot to change hotspot security and configuration settings.
    Navigate Wi-Fi hotspot > Advanced for hotspot settings on Moto G7, Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Power, Moto G Fast, Moto G Power, Moto G Stylus and Moto G 5G Plus, Moto G9 Plus, Moto G9 Power, Moto G Play (2021), Moto G Stylus (2021), Moto G Stylus 5G, Moto G10 Power (2021), Moto G50 (2021) and Moto G100 (2021).
  4. Configure any of the following:
    1. Network name.
    2. Security (This option can be set to Open or WPA2 PSK).
    3. Password (Password can be changed).
  5. Tap Save.

How to Setup Visual Voicemail

  1. From the home screen, navigate to Phone icon > Menu icon > Settings.
    If not available, swipe up to display all apps, then tap the Phone icon.
  2. Tap Voicemail.
    If unavailable, tap Call Settings > Voicemail.
  3. Tap the Visual Voicemail switch to turn on or off.
